This is the first book i have really ever read to be honest lol, i have never been a fan of reading(i'm more into films) but the girlfriend bought me it(she knew i liked the series) and so i have read it and loved it.

Its well worth getting if you want to know more about the area you are mapping.

Protector: Great man. I will.

And for all: The map is about 80 percent done now. So it shouldn't be too long
before I put out a beta for download.

Me again. I've decided not to add a tank for the krauts on the map, and I'm thinking of
leaving the halftrack out as well and making it an infantry only map. This is due to the
fact that once the open crossing has been crossed the Halftrack isn't of any use as
there are trees all over and no chance for the HT to get through.

What do you guys think about that idea? Should I leave it in just for the crossing or leave it out all together?

realisicly the germans got out of the halftrack before they attacked because even an armor piercing 30 cal round could pierce its amor so yeah take out the halftrack. however PLZ give them the panther since they were ss amored divisions, they WOULD NOT ATTACK without thier armor support. but maybe give the americans a bazooka gunner instead of fausts, just make sure the paras dont have to walk a mile to get to their foxholes, and that once there, the holes are made so that you can rest your rifle with a good view in a standing position

Alright, so the Halftrack is out.

Dunno about the tank though. I know it would be realistic, but there's no real use for it. Maybe I'll add it in and if it draw complaints i'll remove it for beta 2.

Yeah. I'll make the spawn zone in the foxholes. Then The Axis cap a neutral obj on their side of the forest and then the allies spawn further back. That way the allies are at the front at the beginning, but when the germans need to cap the front they'll be spawning further back.
In the roof-covered foxhole you'll have to lie down, but in the others you can crouch and rest your rifle on the edge.

I'll give it some thought.

In the meantime, two more pics:

Allied Front 2

The only thing I need now is to figure out the damn spawn, and add a few minor things to the map.
Should be ready for dl soon.

Since the German force is an SS panzer division, there should atleast 1 tank type, like the Panzer IV or Panther. A panzer division without tanks is like an air force without airplanes. And if armor is added to the Germans will it have winter camo.

Yeah I do realize that. I'll add a Panther G for the map.
But the problem is that once that tank has rolled across the open crossing, there's no real use for it anymore.
It just seems dumb to be able to drive it for two seconds and then be forced to leave it behind.
He could stay back and shell the allied reinforcements route though...
hmm... :?

I'm going inside my thinking box and I'm not coming out until I figure something out!!!

You could use the Stug III, load it with HE. Since its an assault gun, have it assault the Allies, plus it won't be as menacing for the Allied forces, but then it might seem too much like foy.

Maybe have a Stug & panther but have no tank respawn.
It's give the germans the initial power & suprise they had at the time but then lose them as the fuel started to run low.
Gives the best of both worlds then. They get the tank as required but then weaken as the battle goes on.
Is it possible to put an simulated airdrop in towards the end of the map for the aliies?
Might look good.
Really looking fwd to this map. No pressure though hehe.
Good work.
Rob

As of now the Panther G only has one respawn. I think one tank is sufficient actually. I'm afraid adding another would make it too unbalanced.
So the tank needs to stay in cover at the german treeline (more or less safe from fausts) and fire at the american front, then move up after the infantry has the front.

Dunno about the airdrop. But I agree it would look good.

Hehe. The map might not be all what your expecting, but I'm open to suggestions on how to improve the map. Gameplay wise as well as visual.

Btw the map should be ready for DL tomorrow or the day after :)
